I love animal-related jewelry. Or rather, pieces of jewelry that resemble an animal. While intimidating to some, these are perfect statement pieces for when that all black outfit needs a pop.
Lets begin with the octo, my octopus ring by nOir Jewelry. This ring takes up a good 1/4 of my hand when I’m sporting it. It’s inky grey stones and magenta eyes are a perfect companion for a night out. Gilt Groupe members, keep your eye out for nOir. I bought this piece for $35, retails at $150!
Next up is my Kenneth Jay Lane zebra bracelet. This is a classic! It can be worn with jeans and a button up or can compliment any cocktail dress. I bought this with my employee discount back when Kate Spade sold other jewelry brands. That was in 2004. The photos are from today as you can see I have worn this almost too much. To several interviews (landed the jobs) and on my first day of work at JA. Needless to say, Jonathan himself pointed and said, “great bracelet!” If thats not enough to call it a statement piece I don’t know what is! I will be needing to buy a new one here.
Snake bracelet. Bought during my “cleopatra phase.” Purchased from my favorite west village boutique, Sucre NYC. They are no short of fabulous jewelry, animal or not.
Lastly, not exactly a piece of jewelry, but still a creature who deserves a shout out. I pulled these missing-limbed crabs off my very old Kate Spade Kiawah Sandals (decided the shoes weren’t for me but the crabs were!). Instant brooch or pendant!
